Theatre - Latest news - Tower Theatre Company's production of Jezz Butterworth's Mojo at Bridewell Theatre

• FORMER Islington boy Jez Butterworth’s state-of-the nation spectacular Jerusalem, which is currently playing at the Apollo, has been universally acclaimed – but if you cannot get tickets, you could do a lot worse than to pop down to the Bridewell Theatre, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, EC4,  to see the Tower Theatre Company’s production of Mojo, Butterworth’s breakthrough work. • Brian Daniels, owner of Hampstead’s New End Theatre, has written two new plays of his own. One concerns the experiences of the son of a victim of the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe. The other, called A Big Day for the Goldbergs, opens at the New End this week and is described as “a light-hearted look at Jewish suburban life with a twist”. 
It draws on Daniels’ experiences growing up in a Jewish part of Leeds and runs from March 9-21. To book call 0870 033 2733.

• More exciting news from the King’s Head Theatre in Upper Street: Adam Spreadbury-Maher, who last year won the won the Dan Crawford/Peter Brook Award for his work at Kilburn’s Cock Tavern Theatre, has been appointed artistic director of the the venue  founded by the legendary Mr Crawford. Stephanie Sinclaire, Mr Crawford’s widow and the chief executive of the King’s Head, announced the appointment on Tuesday, calling Mr Spreadbury-Maher, “the heir to Dan Crawford’s throne”. Quite a tribute!
