The greatest film ever made (copyright: every critic ever) returns to the big screen this week as distributors Park Circus put Casablanca back in to theatres.

Widely credited with such grand achievements as helping persuade America that joining the fight against Nazi Germany was crucial, it is perhaps Bogie’s finest.

To celebrate its return, I’ve got a lovely poster to give away to the first person who sends me the correct answers to my quiz, below.

Casablanca was written by six different screenwriters.

True or false?

Bergman was taller than Bogart – so he wore heeled shoes in the scenes with her. True or false? Sam’s joint only serves one meal – hamburgers.

True or false?

Sam ran a tapas bar in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War.

True or false?

Answers can either be posted to our offices at 40 Camden Road,  NW1 9DR or email me at dcarrier@camdennewjournal.co.uk

Meanwhile, I hear my local pub, The Dartmouth Arms, is setting up a Monday night film club.

Starting on February 20, the first offering in their back room is the Ryan Gosling flick, Drive.

Not only is it free, manager James tells me you can have a main course, a drink and popcorn for £12.

The film night runs fortnightly and I’m going to be helping select the odd film here and there – any suggestions can be made at the pub or send them on to me.
