CAMDEN Council has selected Mace, the building contractors who worked on The Shard, as the preferred bidder to redevelop the 'Travis Perkins' site in West Hampstead. Plans for new shops and 150 homes for the 1.8-acre site in West End Lane are being discussed. A deal is likely to cost around £30 million. Daniel Lovatt, development director at Deloitte Real Estate, which were the council's advisers on the sale, told the Estates Gazette: "We received an unparalled level of national and international interest. The level of demand confirms that Camden is one of the capital's most dynamic and active property markets."

    Where's the new council housing?

How many of these 150 new homes will be council homes?

So another of the free school

So another of the free school dream locations is taken off the list. My favourite is the 0.4 acre Midland Crescent wedge between railway lines.

Back to the skyscraper on Liddell Road or the O2 carpark it seems.
