ONE of the most popular teenagers from Gospel Oak has been shot dead as she sat in the back seat of a car in Ireland.

Melanie McCarthy McNamara’s body has now been flown back to the UK for her
funeral which will be held at a church close to her former home tomorrow (Friday).

The 16-year-old (pictured), who grew up in Allcroft Road, had moved to Dublin just a few months earlier.

She was killed in the Tallaght area of the city last Tuesday night.

Her boyfriend, 19-year-old Christopher Moran, who she planned to marry, was in the front
passenger seat of the vehicle.

Devastated family and friends gathered yesterday in Allcroft Road to create a shrine of flowers, balloons and candles in the teenager’s memory.

In an online tribute, her mother Melissa said her daughter had “made my life worth living”.
