HUNDREDS of people crowded St Dominic’s Priory in Southampton Road on July 13 to pay their respects to Brian Cole, who has been described as the “heart and soul” of Queen’s Crescent.

Mourners walked behind England footballer Joe Cole to the packed church.

Following the service, onlookers lined the streets as the cars made their way to St Pancras Cemetery in East Finchley, where colourful flower displays and messages of condolence were laid in their hundreds. One display featured a miniature furniture shop, with the heading, “Gent of the Crescent.”

Mr Cole’s family wish to thank friends, family and anyone who laid flowers for their generosity and support.
