• I concur with June Craig and Ann Cartwright (Letters, January 26) when they say the No 168 bus should still terminate at South End Green.
If the 168, ended at Morrisons, it would mean that people who wanted to get to South End Green, would have to use the 24 bus.
People are already crushed like sardines, at peak times, so with more people needing to use the 24 to get to South End Green, it would mean even more congestion, and it would also mean other people wouldn’t be able to get on further down the route at Ferdinand Street, Malden Road, and Southampton Road, etcetera.
And what of those who live in and work in Haverstock Hill, and Belsize Park, what they are meant to do?
Walk up that steep hill; walk through from Fleet Road? Most importantly, the 168, 24 – not to mention the 46, C11 and 268 serve the Royal Free Hospital.
So the closer these buses can stop to the hospital the better for those people who have difficulty walking. There is no justifiable reason to move the terminus stop of the 24 or 168 bus!
